This lumbar pillow is made from a gorgeous piece of vintage Japanese silk kimono fabric in a deep juniper/charcoal tone, patterned with wildflowers and fine gold accents. The silk appears to be chirimen, a traditional crepe weave known for its softly rippled, supple texture.
The front design is composed with a central panel framed by softly ruffled sections on either side. A burnt orange velvet ribbon separates the panels, and the result is a piece that is romantic and expressive, without feeling overly ornate.
The back is finished in a neutral beige linen with a gentle woven stripe, chosen to balance the richness of the silk with its coziness.
